Wood Song by Gary Paulses

I predict that the chipmunk will grab the cookie out of the persons hand.I think this because the chipmunk was hungry.Wood Song by Gary Paulson.I predict that it won't snow for a long time.I think this because the person said it didn't snow yet.I had some questions well I was reading. The first question I had was why did the chipmunk not grab the cookie? The answer is because he was afraid the it was a trick. The second question I had was why DID he believe in ghosts? The answer is because he saw a shadow and heard a noise in the dark well cutting wood.I had trouble with this meaning. I felt my heart slam up into my throat. I used the strategy of thinking in my brain. The answer is feeling nervous, like you can't talk, and feel like you can't really breathe.

  1. Good work Adam!

I loved how you described what you thought "I felt my heart slam up into my throat" meant. That was good thinking! Who are the main characters in the book? I see a lot of the word "he" and I am wondering who "he" is. Why did "his" heart slam up into his throat? Give me details to help me understand what your book is about.
